Hey everyone
We’re excited to roll out a feature that has been brewing internally for a while. It’s a new way to earn bonus score, collaborate with the community, and level up your skills.
Every challenge is inspired by a real world incident, and every patch you write is your personal remediation strategy. Instead of treating those patches as isolated solutions, Patch Rewards turns them into learning material for the community.
We wanted a mechanism where players can:
See how others approach the same problem
Share real feedback (technical, actionable, blunt where needed)
Reward strong patches
Mark AI-generated submissions
Improve their own patching skills by reviewing others
Foster a community of security minded developers
The result is a feedback loop that strengthens both quality and creativity.
Whenever you pass a challenge, you earn the ability to vote on other players’ submitted patches for that same challenge.
This keeps the review pool high-quality because only players who actually solved the challenge can evaluate patches for it.
For each patch, you can submit:
Thumbs Up or
Thumbs DownSimple, fast signal of whether the patch is solid or flawed.
“AI-Generated?”Indicate whether you think the patch looks AI-assisted or not.
This isn’t punitive; it’s metadata to help us understand patch quality trends at scale.
Written FeedbackYou can include commentary:
What worked
What didn’t
What you would fix
Why you gave your vote
Security implications the author might have missed
Alternative remediation routes
This feedback becomes part of the challenge ecosystem and helps the patch author improve their approach.
Your vote allows you to earn Bonus Score for a challenge completion.
Passing challenges earns score.
Now reviewing also earns score.
Be sure to vote after you finish a challenge!
We’ll be evolving Patch Rewards based on community behavior and feedback.
More signals, more analytics, more polish, all coming soon.
In the meantime:
Jump in, finish a challenge, review a patch, and help another player grow.
